Reworked Tutorial

The Tutorial has been reworked to make it more interactive and making it easier and faster for new players to get into the game. Tutorial is being split up into Trainings which can be repeatable at any time, currently contains a Basic Combat and Basic Healing training.
The Basic Healing training contains a challenge that allows players to improve their Healing performance.

Achievements

• Now has a cast time of 0.25s

• Howling Wind - Attackspeed reduced has been decreased from 20% to 10%.

Dryad

Natures Wonder (Q)
• Damage caused by Song of Despair decreased from 260 to 240

Nature's Companion (R)
• Increased Damage split on enemies from 220 to 230
• Increased Healing split on allies from 220 to 230

Astronomer

Solar Charge (R)
• Damage increased from 80 to 90
• Healing increased from 80 to 90

Moon Burst (E)
• Target Attack Speed decrease has been lowered from 33% to 25%
• Damage increased from 200 to 210

Herald

Mantra of Devotion (Q)
• Exaltation duration decreased from 5s to 3s.
• Healing decreased from 140 to 120.

Time Shift (Spacebar)
• Healing decreased from 240 to 220.

Thorn

Mushroom Spores (E)
• Velocity decreased from 260 to 210

Medallions

Void Stone Medallion
• Delay increased from 0.3s to 0.4s.
• Global Cooldown increased from 0.3s to 0.5s.

A bunch of stuff happening this week, a new patch will go live tomorrow, August 23rd. Along with the patch comes lowering of Blood Coin prices, new season and a remade training/tutorial system.

Blood Coin price reduction and Marketplace update
The items affected by the Blood Coin reduction are medallions, gems and some of the Bloodlines. The Blood Coin price for unlocking traits will be completely removed. We’re also lowering the Funcom Point price on Reaver, Grimrog, Metal Warden, Stormcaller to 480 Funcom Points.

New season means new avatars! This time you’ll find them available for tokens in the token shop! On top of that we’re also releasing weapons for Alchemist, Engineer, Glutton and Headhunter in the new Runic set which also is available for tokens.

On sale this week, starting from tomorrow, you can get a bunch of silver weapons at 50% discount.

Season Change
Since the patch got delayed a day the current season will run until tomorrow when the servers are taken down.
With autumn knocking on the door, tomorrow Season 6: Trees of Blood begins!

After the patch last week we’re now evaluating the changes in both prices, tutorial and balance. This will take a while before we get any clear results, but we’re very eager to see what kind of results the change will give us.

To motivate you guys some extra to play so we get more to evaluate, we’re running an XP and Blood Coin Boost this weekend! If you have friends who might be interested in trying the game out, this is the time to do it.

As mentioned previously we’re evaluating the changes we’ve made lately to see where to go with the game. Unfortunately we’ve had some sickness and people out of the office the past week so things have been running a bit slower than usual. Something we are working on is to give new players a more rewarding and motivating first steps into BLC.

On top of that we’re running a 40% sale on skirmisher outfits.

Avatar contest
It’s been awhile since we ran a contest and these used to be some of the more popular ones. It’s your chance to make a mark in BLC by making an avatar that gets added into the game and can be found in the marketplace! The participants who win will of course get their own avatar for free.

We’ve heard a lot of thoughts and ideas about parties in the Solo Queues and the 3v3 queue getting drained. We’ve decided to limit the party functionality in Solo Queue to only let parties with a maximum of two (2) players join the solo Queue. This also mean that the “Play with Same” function will be removed from Solo queue but it will stay available in scenarios. We’ll add this change as soon as we get the chance.

We are also looking into ideas on how to make the 3v3 Queue more attractive to players. You can expect some boosted rewards for playing 3v3 in the future for example.

Manly Bacon
Mr2 has begun to plan the second edition of the Manly Bacon Tournament. There’s not much news yet but things seem to be in the works.

The most exciting thing this week must almost be the invincible Ranid bug we had escalating abuse of the last 2 days. This bug got fixed in the hotfix patch earlier today, so no need to fear ranids more than usual in the arenas. ^^

It’s been a while, so we’re doing a Blood Coin boost weekend! Between Friday 21/9 12:00 UTC until Monday 24/9 12:00 UTC the Bloodcoin gain from games will be increased by 50%.

3v3
As mentioned before we’re looking at what we can do to motivate players to play 3v3. Here are some of the ideas we have:

Increase Blood Coin gain from 125% to 150% in Team 3v3.
A reward for every 50th game a team play in the 3v3 ladder. The more games the better reward, until 150 games, after that you’ll receive the same reward as for 150 games when reaching 200 and so forth. The reward is likely to be a token reward to boost your token count you get from playing in tournaments.
We will also increase the Rating required for grades in Solo Matchmaking and 2v2 Team Matchmaking with 5%.


New players
To make life a bit easier and more motivating for new players, we’re adding progression rewards for the earlier levels to prepare them a bit for when they reach the time for some serious play. We’re also adding 3 new Basic Trainings, one with Igniter, one with Spear Master and one with Glutton.

This week you can get Seeker and any of his accessories at 40% discount, and until Friday you can get Gunner at 70% discount!

Next week is patch week!
