Default How to fake a World of Warcraft chatlog

Hi, this is my tutorial. I copied it from my topic on Wow-europe.com Forums. Link: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread....06830723&sid=1

PS: Before you start trolling, this is my alt.

Alright as i played around with photoshop i came up with the idea of trying to fake a screenshot for fun. Just to play a little joke on my guildies.

This was generally a very hard task and i had to play around with everything to get it to look as real as it can be.

For the short tutorial if you already know how to do things with photoshop scroll to the bottom.

    What you need
First you need the font "Arial Narrow". How to get it, is your prob. Remember, google is your friend, i'm not.

You also need Photoshop. In this case i used CS3 but i think you can do the same with CS4, or even better.

Alright now take a screenshot in World of Warcraft and open it up in Photoshop. You should already have written something in Guild/Say chat like "Cake" just to match them. I'm not gonna explain how to take away written text as it requires a huge amount of time to 'repair it' in same detail as if the text was never there.

When you opened the screenshot, click "Windows" then "Character".

There should be something like A V . Thats the spacing. Write/select "25" there.

    The size should be 15.

And at the aa thing (type i think), you should select Crisp.

For the color, in the hex bar (#) write 43ff3a

Write something right above/below the screenshot of the text you just saw. I recommend you zoom in once.

    [Guild] [Yourname]: Cake

Doesn't look like it was really written there was it? We'll fix that right away.

At your text layer, right click and select "Blending Options". Enable Drop shadow.

    Drop Shadow Settings:

    Opacity: 100%
    Distance: 1
    Spread: 41
    Size: 0
    Noise: 0
    Angle: 135
    Global Light should be ticked
Layer knocks out drop shadow should be unticked.

Use the move tool to better sync the distance between each text.

    Congrats!

It should now look something like this:
