When does the game take place?

At first glance I thought it would take place in Jules Verne's time.
But you have these characters dressed up in discos clothing and bellbottoms.
So I'm wondering if 80 Days isn't really meant to be in any particular time period, but in a fantasy time period of its own.

What is Jules Verne time?

if you read Nemo's or Robur's adventures, you cannot define the time they lived in.

the game takes place in 1899 on Jules Verne scale of time if I may say. it si 27 years after Fogg's and Passepartout trip. it is also the turn of the century and it is connected to Oliver age which is among the origin of the bet.

then I wanted to have a funny time where we could have many things I like, disco music and steam cars, good taste clothes and giants steamer, funny dialogs and serious story.
