Voice acting in french version "Ankh" ?

Ankh is already out here in germany and it definitely got a very funny game. Major impact on the fun of the game has the german voice cast, done by synchronous speakers for know foreign movie and soap actors. Basically many localizations of adventures in germany are trying to get well known voices and promote the game using their names. What are the plans for the release of Ankh in france and is there also the same hype for using well known voices in adventures ?

Yes you're right, that what we did for the French version. We used the French voices of Ben Stiller and Jessica Alba for the 2 main characters, plus some others that I do not actually remember.

You're right : voice recordings are recording to get a good game atmosphere so that's something we are working on a lot for every project. It seems that our efforts are useful as the French version of the Nancy Drew game we just released has been acclaimed by the press and players.

yeah Nancy Drew has really nice voice overs too. About Ankh games would it be possible to get the cast with the characters they played and eventually some little voice extract so we can acutally hear what it looks like we would be glad to host that kind of things of course

And I think that the voice are important but most importantly the translations have a big part in the game success too Do Micro Application do the translations on their own or using an external studio dedicated to that ?

And to conclude there is a strange thing on the voice sample on the sracthes website, because you know the guy talking called the place the Blackmoor Manor which is the place but Scratches is at the Blackwood manor, was it made on purpose to see if player would react ? or did you change the name of the place for the french version ?

Yes Wedge, this is planned and this should be available on the Ankh website (www.ankh-jeu.com) through december with some surprises...

For translations, we use most of the time external studios (La Marque Rose for Ankh, KBP for Nancy Drew).

Regarding Scratches, it's a mistake which gonna be fixed. I guess the translator was the same one as the Nancy Drew one

okay because that is weird you know to hear that and see blackwood written, but anyway the names are so close
