I think that you've mentioned once that you intend to work with a real orchestra in order to record the music for The Abbey. If true, can you give us any details about this? Who is the composer? Which orchestra? How many musicians? Will it be only used for the opening theme or during the whole game?

The composer is Emilio de Paz, who has composed many original soundtracks in spain.
The orchestra that records the music was the City of Prague Phillarmonic Orchestra conducted by Mario Klements, a well reputed conductor in the film soundtrack scene.
We record with more than 50 musicians plus 2 choirs: men and children. The total, almost 80 people has worked in our soundtrack.
The music of the live orchestra follows during the whole game, not only in the introduction, and as an example you can downlaod the main theme from:

That track sounds great, looking forward to hear more of it in the game! I'm always very happy when game developers chose to work with live musicians, even if it is more expansive. A good soundtrack can add SO much depth to a game...

    We are absolutely agree.
Since Emilio de Paz is the CEO in Alcachofa Soft and he is the composer, it's clear we give a lot of importance to music, because we believe in music to trasmit emotions and make more intense the gaming experience.

As far as I remember he wrote music for "The Westerner". Thats why Fenimore Fillmore has an allergy for artichokes? :-) Is he writing soundtrack for a new Fenimore Fillmore game? Maybe some of you were helping your colleagues with "Runaway2" also?

Yes. As spanish developers we are colleagues with Pendulo and Revistronic. Sometimes we meet for talking about our projects and videogames scene, etc.
Emilio was the composer of The Westerner soundtrack, though right now we are very bussy with The Abbey and we don't know if some collaboration in The WEsterner 3 will be possible.
