Default Edna bricht aus / Harebrained

Somewhere there was a bit of info about a "Edna Bricht Aus" developed by your company. The game site is only in German. Can you tell a bit about this game? In what phase of development is it now? What platforms is it for?

"Edna bricht aus" is a classic point & click adventure game developed by our Creative Director Jan as a student project. It tells the story of Edna who awakens in a holding cell of an insane asylum and has no idea how she got there... in any case, she feels perfectly sane - and her talking stuffed toy bunny Harvey tends to agree! Now she has to find a way out of there and discover the dark secrets of her mind...

The game is practically finished and we are currently in talks with several publishers all over the world. It is a PC game.

Any info on how long the game is? How many locations, persons are there? Any estimations on the initial release date?

There are in fact 120 playable screens. Yepp. 120 - half of which are located in Dr. Marcels mental asylum - hard to get out for poor Edna. The screens are inhabited by 30 characters - but just when you count "Bobo the brain in a jar" as a character. Otherwise there would be 29.

btw: Here is the proof that in Edna every single inventory-combination brings a unique reaction from the dynamic duo: Edna / Harvey as a response (sry it's german...):
Here is the reaction on "Use pen with coin":

    Translation:
Edna: "Should I draw heads a false beard?"
Harvey: "Oh, yeah! And tails gets an eyepatch!"

Since it's practically finished... when will it be released? One doesn't hear a lot about this game, and in the other thread you mention that A Whispered World will probably be the first daedalic game to hit the stores... in 4th quarter 2008. So what happens with edna???

Edna will probably see the light of day before The Whispered World. The reason Jan refers to TWW as the first Daedalic game, is that most of the work on Edna was done before Daedalic came into existence. Hopefully, we will soon be able to tell you and everyone else more about the plans for Edna...
