Hi all, Welcome to our area of Adventure Developers Online Conference 2007!
We open our doors at the time of Pastis, a kind of local tradition (not in the studio of course its an alcoholic aperitif).
Im Nicolas Delaye the author of eXperience112, game designer, project manager, artistic director, and most of the time lead of the vacuum cleaner in our French studio (in south of France, near Aix en Provence).
Some guys of the team will join us soon, like Sbastien Chemin the lead programmer, Jrme Suray the lead UI programmer and Christophe Devaux the Cinematics guy. We will try to answer all your questions.
Please excuse my poor English and it will be great to write French for those they wishes.

I brought the official overview of the game;

Synopsis

In a dilapidated tanker, grounded on a Pacific island, time seems to have stood still for the past thirty years.
Apart from a few hard-to-identify animals, there isnt a soul around. Or at least so it would appear This makes the presence of Professor Lea Nichols, a woman in her thirties who could be beautiful if the strain of her situation wasnt so etched on her features, all the more troubling She needs your help to escape from her floating prison. From behind your surveillance screens and using your control tools, you will act as her eyes and her ears as you help her to find a way to leave this sinister vessel. After a switchback adventure of twists and counter-twists, you wont see things the same way again.

Gameplay

The player doesnt control a character on the screen. Situated in a control and surveillance room, he discovers his environment and takes control of it through surveillance cameras. Hence, he has several points of view at the same time.
The characters talk to the player through the cameras. The player can move the cameras as he wants (rotation, zoom) and even uses advanced functions (infrared vision, heat detection etc). The interaction with Lea Nichols, the hero, is both strong and direct: she talks directly to the player (not to his avatar) and most of all she depends on the player to survive. Being in an environment she doesnt have any control on, Lea Nichols needs the player to trigger the opening of doors, to take control of radio-controlled vehicles etc The player, who has lost his memories, could have the feeling of total power. However, two questions make it quite different:
1/ Who is he to have such a power?
2/ What are his links with Lea Nichols

We're here to answer your questions for two hours, I hope youll enjoy.

En Franais ;

Pour rappel la prsentation du jeu eXperience112 ;
