Before you ulti someone you must press blademail otherwise it doesn't activate during the duel, is it possible that you activate blademail during the duel without interrupting it? at least enabled with aghanim's scepter

It is not a bug, it's the same as if you're called by axe, but then for both sides. Lc ulti does not allow any spell or item usage during the battle, so everything has to be used beforehand. There's no option of using items/spells during the duel.
