Default Video conversion: wmv to DVD

Wmv, stands for Windows Media Video, is a well known video format, a video compression format for several proprietary codecs developed and controlled by Microsoft. It can be played on many vedio players on the pc, but not any DVD player. To see wmv vedios on DVD player needs to convert wmv to DVD. That's a very easy job, just download a DVD burner from the Internet and do it yourself.

    WHY?

Most people watching a DVD are really seeing 70mm film quality. It is a $100 million movie in DVD format. Compared to the HD cable version the DVD picture quality is better.

WMV is junk. If you have anything in wmv it is a very inneficient compression ratio, an old fashioned technology, a very small file.

You cannot really turn garbage into gold, at least not with ordinary video conversion software.

Even if the goal is storage of family events, just store it as a WMV and do not have any illusion you can upscale junk like WMV into something that looks like a DVD movie.

    Hope this helps!
