Hey

I'm wondering how will the in-game graphics of the Abbey looks like.
form the trailer/ pictures i've seen so far, it looks like the characters are 3d and the background are hand drawn 2d.
I'm assuming the trailers are pre-rendered and not real-time.

Can you elaborate more or better yet show us how the game actually looks like ?

We've been told much. People don't want to believe it, but I assure you it's not pre-render at all. Every second of the trailer, except the first and last movement of camera around the abbey are real time.

Wow !
That is amazing. Can't wait to try it out!!!

Are you using high poly or low poly models ?

Hi people!

Since all the enviroment are 2d backgrounds, we can use the highest models you've seen in an adventue game, because all the power of the engine is dedicated only for the characters.

Greetings,

Emilio

What engine are you using ?
Are the characters cel / toon shaded or just smartly textured ?

We have an engine of our own, programmed by our lead programmer Daniel Iborra.
For the character we use an innovative cell shader you've never seen before. We are very proud of our system.

And to see a game that looks as pretty as the stuff i've seen so far: I'm proud of your system as well. ;-)

Mind if i ask some more technical questions ?
Was building the engine posed as an obstacle in the game development process ?
Are you using any shortcuts to make it (like using an underlying engine such as Ogre3D) or are you implementing it directly over OpenGL/DirectX ?
Will you be licensing your engine ?

The engine was not an obstacle at all because the game looks and plays as fun because of the engine. So the development of the engine was an essencial part of the game development.
The engine is implemented directly over DirectX. It is an engine completely programmed by Alcachofa Soft, and I'm sorry to tell you we haven't got the idea of licencing it.

Well, I'm hoping you'll be interested in Zbang and our new (very soon to be announced) game as much as i'm interested in yours...

I've seen the video in your web.
We hope you may soon improve all your creativity in a big budget project. We had to wait many years until we found Crimson. Don't give up!

NO WAY I'm giving up.
Making adventure games is my dream come true. ;-)
Thanks for the encouragement.

That's not true, I'm very interested too, but I still have to catch up with everything that was written in the last few hours... work, you know...
