This is the Poll complete the "Old school player : Are you Alive ? (http://www.dota-alliance.com/board/showthread.php?t=5305)" poll
So please answer both.

The huge part of the community who are only ready to play on a CS basic server surprised me.
That's why here are some needed info for a possible CS 1.6 server

you can find some more info about those mod here (http://wc3mods.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15)

I'll set up a Gungame server, I'm still not sure about adding DM mod too. I'll most probably install it then switch it off.
This way I could activate it easily whenever I want.

Remember to install several scripts aswell! I got some expirience running servers, especially when it comes to settings, where to place it, locations and FTP etc. I've had a couple of servers of successfull clans in the past :D.

IF you need help im here for u sexy Dreena <3

Lol Thanks Infector, but I haven't any prob with anything. The only thing I wanted to know was about what people want to play. That's the reason of the 2 polls !
I'll try to edit the first post to give an up to date config of the server (addons/plugin/modules...)

edit: maybe you could help me by making me a map pack for the server.
I haven't played for a while so I don't know what are the current map played by cs player.

Yeah not shitty polls, which just asks if the thread is good or not <.< ... =P

You use dedicated servers or rented servers?

Dreena

dedicated server

:S .. It'll use much of ur bandwith, and may not be as stable.

You should get a rented one. Not THAT expensive..

Dunno what do you really mean by dedicated and rented but
My dedicated bandwidth could support up to 10/15 server without any prob (But my dedicated' CPU wouldn't support that much atm lol)!
Anyway that's just a test server, when we'll be sure on what we want to do the dedicated will probably change cause I need mine free for testing like I actually do :)

A dedicated server, is a .. server hosting software that you can download from the Steam Application Tab. Just google it.

A rented server is for example www.counter-strike.com .. Check it out.

lol ok That's your point of you.
Here is your mistake :
the software is HLDS or SRDS
A dedicated server is a computer, most often provided by an hosting company and housed in data centers.
The hosting company provide a computer with high bandwidth then you do whatever you want with it using different remote control (SSH for linux based server and the windows remote control tool for Windows Server 2k3/2k8 )

What you call a "rented server" is a dedicated server used by a service company ( here to provide a CS server )
They do not own completely server, they rent them, then you sublet it

So my dedicated is housed in a data center, with high bandwidth :)
