Blizzard announced today that StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is definitely the PC game the most sold this year with 3 million copies in only one month which is also the fastest sold PC game of all time.

The launch of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty took place simultaneously in North America, Europe, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

After only 24 hours, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty had already sold one million copies and one million and a half after 48 hours which makes this game the fastest sold after only one day.

Here is a statement from http://imgur.com/LEZeX.gif (http://imgur.com/LEZeX.gif) Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment

We appreciate all the enthusiasm that players around the world have shown for StarCraft II. It was important to us to deliver an overall gameplay experience that was accessible, balanced, and fun, and it’s been gratifying to see how strongly the global community has already embraced the game

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty has had a very interesting feedback even though StarCraft: Brood War is still very popular in South Korea. Its predecessor was released in 1998 and surely is the most famous strategy game of all time especially in South Korea where the game is considered as a national sport.

Let’s hope that StarCraft will be as good or even better as its predecessor and not only in South Korea but in the entire world.

Do not forget that StarCraft II has been played in some important events since its official release such as the http://imgur.com/xuih6.gif (http://imgur.com/xuih6.gif) IEM Gamescom as well as http://imgur.com/H3ft7.gif (http://imgur.com/H3ft7.gif) MLG Raleigh which both took place in August as well as the biggest StarCaft II tournament hosted by http://imgur.com/kZHKA.gif (http://imgur.com/kZHKA.gif) GomTV which is currently running in Seoul, South Korea.

The StarCraft II scene looks very promising, doesn't it?
