One problem with RGC that GGC doesnt have

Many of my friends are reluctant to install RGC because of this. Those who installed it, their antivirus keep on bugging them about it, causing tabbing/lagging in games. I am fully aware that RGC isn't ACTUALLY a virus, but most antivirus programs disagree. Did this issue ever come up?

Thanks for notifying me of this. I wasn't aware just how bad it is, I've only had 2 reports from Kaspersky users.

They outdated patcher executable and the latest client executable have zero hits. Which makes it very awkward, I have no idea which part of the code is actually causing the false positives. I'll see what I can do, but I doubt that I'll have much success.

It's a shame that people would rather trust their machine than the experience of a friend nowadays. I don't know how to help your friends, it always depends on the anti-virus that they use, they have to whitelist rgc.exe and rgcp.exe somehow. I'll definitely check the next rgc.exe before I bring it online, I won't be able to fix the rgcp.exe virus detections for now since I don't have time to play around with that website at the moment, but I definitely will at some stage.

Yes same problem here ... a my kaspersky anti-virus ..is recognising rgcp as brute force.virus

I recompiled both executables with the new 4.3 version and it somehow magically fixed the problem. I hope that the solution lasts, but I can't promise anything. Can you please confirm that your kaspersky doesn't detect any malware anymore on your computer once you patch?

That is a scan with the latest rgc.exe which was patched on the 15.01.2011. The rgc on my computer and the file on the server are both clean.
