Let me explain a little further: .Arank works as a data base for games played, with whom and who won, together with, of course, who quit or didn't. With all this data, the master-mind behind all this - not a super computer, prolly an excel sheat - will produce a Rank for the person in question.

When you join a game, you can ask to this client the rank of the players involved. The client will retrieve each of the player's played games, count the stays and the loses and then produce a Rank according to the player's "behavior", to put it that way.

If the player "behaved" and didn't leave games, he'll most likely have a higher rank; if, on the other hand, the player left many games and there was at least one other player using Arank, then he'll have points deducted from his rank hence rendering a lower Rank.

This works globally, and the ranks obtained from each and every cell that is using Arank will work together to compose this huge data-base with everyone's - or as many as possible - gaming experience, and then we will be able to tell for sure who is a "behaved", "honest" player to play with.

THERE ARE FLAWS, yes, but then again, SOMETHING'S BETTER THAN NOTHING. We're making a HUGE effort to bring more and more functionality and feeds, but this is a slow trying process that may take several months.

ON THE OTHER HAND, though, the more you play with Arank on, the more points and Rank you get and, hence, the elder you become. Start using it now! You won't regret in the future.

if you want to filter flamers etc., just combine .arank with the banlist. the biggest disadvantage of the banlist is that people can simply change their accounts to avoid the banned status. however, that resets their ranklevel to 0 so they need to stay 'clean' for quite a long time to reach a high rank without being banned at some point.
