Honesty I'm freak of AR mode, so I pretty like them all, expect one or two specific heroes.
It is a realy usefull to know all of them well, because you can also predict the future in the battlefield.
In my opinion a good player shall train them all, and pick them by the status of the matchup.

Pit is a perfect pusher with his firestorm and can greatly help his team with his 2nd and ulti skills.
Veno cause I love his great dot. (btw i never use his wards)
Techies cause I love killing my enemies unexpectadly. (killng them when they go secret shop without letting them get their item is my best:))

2- Mortred - every farm is overfarm
3- Sf - let me mid and gg 20th min

1- New undy- rly awesome hero when u understand him
2- Pudge - total pwnage hero for skilled players
3- Axe / Rexxar - axe for gettin 2 stouts from start and own lane, and rexar for making necro 3 or hex whatever enemies i get
( rly <3 those items )

Itnt heroes, i dont like being support but here it is ( all int arent support ofc )
1- Invoker - same as pudge - get skill - get win.
2- Puck - overimbaganger
3- Lich - stupid to explain
Here is also my imba lich opinion ( saw from some DCE games and starte use it )
Go mid, imba cs, midas about 7th min, bot in 12, dezolator and meka since 25 and its gg imho
