Some new rumors came out saying that DotA 2 Might be free on Steam.

Maybe it will be free for a short period of time, like a test period in order to gather some more players!
As fas as i know something similar happened to the HoN.

It's called an open beta, and yes I think that DotA 2 will take advantage of this the first month(s).

I heard much talks about Dota 2... I think there will be first 1-2 monts for free, like HoN before, and until beta pahse finished, this will be payble. I heard also that sale price will be something like 50$. Anyway, i cant belive in any of thins things, until i see icefrog's decision :D

Dota 2 it will be free for the first months as a beta and im betting everything at it... They can't just release the game and ask for the new gamers 30$ or so to create an account...
Even WoW cataclysm i think had an open beta some days.

It's DotA 2, and Valve isn't known to release high-cost games. Not many people will play if it requies subscribtion, so you can assume you only need to pay once.

and i also have another question.
will dota be separate from warcraft or there will be another warcraft version (wc4) and it will have new maps such as dota 2?

DotA 2 is an independant game, like HoN and LoL, except it's being developed by Valve & IceFrog.


It will have no relation to Warcraft, except that is where it's roots are from. It will most likely have it's own engine.


Warcraft 3 will be Warcraft 3.

DotA 2 will be DotA 2, not Warcraft 3. :-)
