How to use arank

So i have been hosting Dota games for about a year. and recently installed arank but i have no idea how to use it. when i start it nothing happens.
it just sits in my task bar and says not connected to battle net , game not found. so my question is how do i use it.

You have to start DotaRank before WC3 and choose the right network adapter.

hi i thought i can ping with arank ??
is it: //pingall //pinghost //rankall ???
but it does not work...or does it just work when i host a game??
arank is connected and shows me pings usw but just in windows :-/
isnt there an ingame command?
