Even during the slot reservation period, people who did not sign for the game are still able to join.

Example:

10 players sign, but only 6 people join the game.

There are numerous people now chasing for these 4 slots.

If one of the 6 people who joined decides to leave during the reservation, whilst the 4 'outsiders' are constantly trying to join, one of them will be able to take their slot, bypassing the reservations.

Where's the problem here? You got 10 reserved slots, 6 players join, 4 reserved slots left.
One of the 6 leaves, and one non-reserved joins. You still got 4 reserved slots left and 6 players in the game.

I don't see the issue here.

What if the other 4 people with reserved slots are in the process of joining the game? One (or possibly more) could have their slots stolen.

.

People who didn't sign, can join the game if others lose their reservation slot
they can lose it in 2 ways :
1st) If they leave the lobby after joining it
2nd) If 1 minute pass

I guess one minute is enough to join the game

It seems unfair that people who didn't sign up for the game are allowed to join it before the reservation period is over.

that's not true they can't join if they didn't sign unless sm1 from the guys who signed joined the lobby and left for somereason, others could join in that case

Yes... So someone who DID sign leaves, at this moment someone who did NOT sign joins. The person who left joins again, with the rest of the people who DID sign -> leaving 1 slot 'stolen' by someone who did NOT sign.

This leaves 1 person who may want to join a game he signed to out of the game.

You missed something here in the logics. The person with the reserved slot that left the game loses the slot reservation, if you leave a signed game that you joined, you no longer have the right to that slot, thus one person that didn't sign can come to take it.

It's in all ways fair since you "surrender" your slot upon leaving the game.

What if you hit cancel by accident? What if your warcraft crashes? Why does leaving the game for a few seconds indicate that you wish to give up your reserved slot?

Surely the reservations should be held for the entire minute, instead of letting a 'random' (read: fastest clicker) to join the game in your place.

There's no missing logic, you just aren't following through with the thoughts I'm posting.
