Hello today I just called my internet provider and asked if they could change my ip.
They said they could not cause I got a DHCP-server. And its the DHCP-server that gives me my IP.

So how do I change my Ip on DHCP-server????

Sir rogers anyone?
I know there is alot of programmers in here. Someone must know something.

Hmm, at first we would need some further information about your provider and where're you from :)

lol, what a freaking support of your provider, that's totally bullshit :P - As long as you don't wanna change your local ip, but I think you wanna change your public ip, don't you? :D

They actually refuse to change my ip adress for real.
They said the DHCP Server is changing my ip adress.

im from norway and this is my internet provider http://get.no/web/
and this is my router http://192.168.0.1/

You have differen ip addresses.
One in you local network - this is indeed managed by your router's DHCP. But i can't connect to your router at http://192.168.0.1/ because this address is only for your LAN.
You get another ip from the provider which identifies you in the internet - that's the one you'll probably want to change.

Either support didn't quite get what you wanted or they don't know shit. :D

That's totally senseless, since he got a router with nat ... :)

This tutorial only works for local ip adresses ... because you are connected to internet through a router.
Maybe try to power off your router for about 30 seconds and reconnect it after that. If that doesn't work, you got a real static ip and only your provider is able to change it. Try to call them again and ask for some kind of second level support. Mostly the guys in call centers (first level support) don't have any clue about what they're talking.

Yea, looking up your ipconfig only shows your LAN IP, not your WAN IP (which is the "one for the internet").
You can see that one easily for example at http://whatismyipaddress.com/
Now there are several ways to change your IP adress, depending on what kind of internet connection you have (my swedish is nonexistant, so the link doesn't really help). If you've got a cable connection with cable modem and router, try unplugging your cable modem for three minutes, restart your router and power on your cable modem. If that doesn't help, you probably get a static IP, but that is uncommon.
