    Default DotArank.Inhouse Rules

    Reading legend:
    - blue text is directed at admins however, it's encouraged that everyone reads it
    - sienna and black text is directed at everyone

    THE RULES:
    Information
Please note that the rules might not cover every single situation. The rule of thumb is that if you think whatever you're about to do will cause heavy annoyance to a single person or multiple people that you play with, then do not do it. Any action that can be understood as a form of harassment towards fellow players is a reason to unvouch and the administration reserves the right to unvouch players even if the situation is not specifically listed in the current guideline. We also reserve the right to change the rules at any given time with immediate effect.

    General Rules of Conduct
    1. Do not leave games.
    2. Do not ruin games. This includes going afk, especially without noticing the other players, suiciding/feeding and leaving.
    3. No flaming. You are expected to behave like you do in the real world: treat your fellow players with respect.
    4. Do not use bugs. Using bugs in any game will lead to an instant unvouch. There's no excuse for abusing known or unknown bugs.
    5. You need to have a considerable skill, understanding of a game and team-play.

    Dota-specific Rules
    1. No stealing items from your own team. (You may take certain leaver items with the permission of your team)
    2. Backdooring is allowed!
    3. Do not abuse control share given for chicken/crow.

    -CD and -CM Rules
    1. The Captain has the right to pick the heroes as he pleases. Continuous criticism towards the captain is considered insulting.
    2. Reserving heroes is allowed and the first one who does that has the sole right of using the chosen hero.

Appendix to rule 1 and 2 of General Rules of Conduct

Intentional leavers, especially those who left after feeding or without giving a reason, are to be unvouched instantly. Leaving by a dc is generally not a reason to unvouch but there are bounds to how often you can dc! There are also situations in which it is obvious that the player unplugged his internet cable in order to pretend disconnecting. Such cases should be discussed with other admins before unvouching and proven with a replay.
Before going afk a player should say what the reason for his absence is. If a player didnt state a reason for his absence, the game should be paused for approximately 30 seconds to give him a chance to return. A player can be kicked from a game when he was afk for over 5 minutes.
Players that kamikaze into Roshan, towers or other players should be kicked instantly. Warning them ahead is not obligatory if it is evident that their only purpose is to destroy the game. Yet, we have to ensure that this incident takes place 2-3 times before taking action. It is always possible somebody's wireless mouse ran out of batteries or he had a gigantic lag spike.
Unintentional feeding in some cases may be a reason to unvouch from Inhouse.

Appendix to rule 3 of General Rules of Conduct

If you spot an inappropriate behavior in the game, you have to inform the player that "this is a well-mannered game so please behave" - or similar. If his attitude does not change, give a second warning like "Last warning, next time you will be unvouched". Ultimately, if he fails to comply you will have to !unvouch and !kick the player after the game. If you feel that his behavior is by no means tolerable and the flamer doesnt stop after a couple of warnings, !unvouch and !kick him while he is in game. "No flaming" rule is also directed at the admins. Do not write hateful reasons, be objective!
We do not approve of racist, random, misleading, rude or vulgar nicknames. Players with such nicks won't be vouched to any of our channels.
    Examples:
    - WC3isanoob (rude)
    - Fuckingassholes (rude)
    - Sir_Rogers (misleading)
    - v3453yeuiytv83 (random)
    - KillAllNiggers (racist)
    - ????????????????? (misleading/random)
    - mYpussYiSwidEopeN (vulgar)

Appendix to rule 4 of General Rules of Conduct

Intentionally blocking a lane with fissure to redirect creeps or sprouting to stop or redirect creeps movement is not considered a bug and therefore it is allowed.

Appendix to rule 5 of General Rules of Conduct

Only English in the chat and in game, unless you have the permission of the players in your team that don't understand your native language. Unvouching a player from the channel is solely admin decision, thus it involves a great deal of critical thinking and needless to say, it has to be a very responsible call. In this mindset, we should reflect before unvouching a player for lack of team-play.

Appendix to rule 1 of DotA-specific Rules

Stealing enemy items from the fountain area with a crow is forbidden. Taking enemy items from the ground elsewhere is tolerated, yet impolite.
When a player from your team has left you should sell all his items to benefit the whole team. Nevertheless, you may ask your team for one particular item you want, by e.g. saying: "Can I take agha?". Only should no one else object are you permitted to take it. You are not allowed to sell this item for 5 minutes after taking it. If two players want to take the same item from a leaver's inventory and cannot agree on it, this item should be sold to prevent endless quarrel.

Appendix to rule 2 of DotA-specific Rules

Heroes entering the base must go through the same entrance that creeps did. When there are no more allied creeps alive in the enemy base, heroes are allowed to remain in the base and continue destroying it. Once the heroes have left and there are no more creeps in the base, the procedure has to be repeated before the heroes may attack base buildings again. Staying invisible in the base without allied units in it for more than 10 seconds will be considered as leaving the base and the procedure has to be repeated again.

Appendix to rule 3 of DotA-specific Rules

"Unit share" applies in DotA only for crow/chick usage. Under no circumstances are you allowed to control your teammate's hero. Every player has his own and individual hero, which can be only controlled by himself.

Appendix to rule 2 of -CD and -CM Rules

We divide -cm and -cd mode into two phases:
1st - captain-pick phase (in which captain picks 5 heroes),
2nd - player-pick phase (in which the players choose among the previously picked 5 heroes).
Reserving heroes is only possible in the 1st phase. A player must precisely state which hero he reserves (e.g.: "Me cm plz", "I play venge"; not: "me last", "I play ganker"). The general rule can be expressed through a known proverb: "First come, first served.". You cannot reserve more than one hero. If someone picks your previously reserved hero, ask him for a swap and tell him that you reserved it. If he doesn't swap you have the right to request unvouch for the offender. Do NOT leave the game in such case!
