That's a mighty handsome Rabbi, there.

    Indeed, quite handsome.

What is Mr. Stone holding there? Since it is ProgZart, I immediately thought it was a bazooka, then a samurai sword, and now it looks like some kind of religious prop.

That's a torah. In a nutshell, it's a scroll that is read from during services. The rabbi carries it around the synagogue before opening it.

I always wanted to ask you, if there is a special meaning behind your avatar/icon?

    From the Wadjet Eye website:

In ancient Egypt, the Wadjet Eye symbolized the left eye of Horus, and represents healing, protection, strength, and the act of "making whole."

so there is a really good meaning behind it O.o"

Cool . How did you make the jump from a hey I love adventure-making in my free time-guy to a indie dev?

I wonder what this game will be called. Rabbi Stone shouldn't have be involved in too many shivahs, or else he might get a reputation much like Jessica Fletcher's of "Murder, She Wrote" :P.

Any thoughts on the title Dave?

Heh. You're not the first one to say so! I'll probably bill the whole series as "The Rabbi Stone Mysteries" and give a unique title to each one. How does "The Briss" sound?

At least it can't be mispronounced easily.

And it's not as daunting as "brit milah".

    yeah, another rabbi stone game

Thats wonderful news, since I really loved The Shivah!

So your already planning your next game the... and are obviously already working on it. Thats good to hear.
How far along is the blackwell legacy? Probably about finished, if you want to release it in less than a month...

    Whats the status on that?

That's even more wonderful news! As for planning 'Shivah 2' I've mainly been bouncing concept designs off of Dave to get an idea for where we'd like to see the series go next visually and stylistically. Blackwell Legacy amps up the bar for quality, so Rabbi Stone will be getting bigger and badder, too!

Blackwell is about 3 weeks away from release. It's totally programmed, which means you can get from the beginning to the end. Aside from bug squashing, all that's left is fairly boring stuff. Things like importing all the voice clips and animations. Barring any emergencies, the game should be released on schedule on Dec 16.

"The Rabbi Stone Mysteries"? So Disco has gone from "Murder, She Wrote" to me saying "The Father Dowling Mysteries"

Anyways, I'll have my $$ ready for Blackwell

    With regards,

    Yickle.

Rabbi Stone would knock Father Dowling out after one round of 'which religion is the right one'.

That was the cookie, the mushroom was either "this side or the other side" :P

Dave: After the events in the Shivah, does Rabbi Stone seek out mysteries, or do the mysteries somehow find him? :O

I can imagine him doing a sermon at the synagogue, and afterwards going into his office, where there would be such things as a police scanner, crime scene kits, newspaper clippings, and other detective gadgets.

Will he always be the unlucky, unwilling detective?
